At first glance, Fury of the Furries looks like a cheerful platform game starring colorful fluffballs. Spend a few minutes with it, however, and you’ll realize those adorable creatures are about to drag you into a surprisingly tricky puzzle adventure. Released in 1993 for DOS, the game lets you transform your furry protagonist into different elemental forms, each with unique abilities. One moment you’re floating gently as a balloon-like creature, the next you’re smashing obstacles with the enthusiasm of a very determined bowling ball. Levels demand careful thinking rather than quick reflexes, which gives the game a pleasant, brain-teasing rhythm. It’s cute, clever, and occasionally devious in the way it challenges players to think before bouncing.
