Season of the Sakura (1997) is what happens when a high school dating sim meets anime melodrama. You play a student navigating the treacherous waters of friendship, love, and questionable classroom etiquette. The art is charmingly retro, the characters are expressive, and the dialogue swings from heartfelt to hilarious. It’s part coming-of-age story, part nostalgia trip, and all wrapped in cherry blossoms and pixelated blushes.
