Denton Designs

Game company profile: Denton Designs

Denton Designs was a British video game development company based in Liverpool, founded in September 1984 by six former employees of Imagine Software: Steve Cain, Ian Weatherburn, Ally Noble, John Gibson, Karen Davies, and Graham "Kenny" Everett. The team came together after the collapse of Imagine Software, where they had worked on ambitious projects like the unfinished "mega game" Bandersnatch.
Initially, Denton Designs specialized in developing software for the ZX Spectrum home computer.

In March 1986, internal disagreements led to the departure of several founding members, including Steve Cain, Karen Davies, Graham Everett, and John Gibson. Despite these changes, the company continued to develop games throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s. In December 1995, Denton Designs was acquired by Rage Software, marking the end of its independent operations.
