Who is David Braben?

David Braben is a British game developer, best known as the co-creator of the groundbreaking video game series "Elite." Born on January 2, 1964, Braben studied at the University of Cambridge, where he met Ian Bell, with whom he developed the original "Elite" game in the early 1980s. "Elite" was one of the first open-world games, featuring revolutionary 3D graphics and gameplay elements that influenced many future titles in the space simulation genre.

Apart from Elite Braben has been involved in various other gaming projects and has contributed significantly to the gaming industry. He co-founded Frontier Developments, a UK-based video game developer, in 1994, which has created several successful games including RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, Planet Coaster, and Jurassic World Evolution. Braben has been honored with numerous awards for his contributions to gaming, including an OBE (Order of the British Empire) for services to the UK computer and video games industry.
