Steve Eric Meretzky

Steve Eric Meretzky is an American video game designer and writer who has made significant contributions to the interactive fiction and video game industry. He is best known for his work with Infocom, a pioneering company in the field of text adventure games during the 1980s.

Meretzky joined Infocom in the mid-1980s and quickly became one of the company's most prominent designers. He is responsible for creating several highly acclaimed and commercially successful interactive fiction titles, including The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, based on Douglas Adams' novel of the same name, and Leather Goddesses of Phobos, a humorous science fiction adventure.

After Infocom's closure in 1989, Meretzky went on to work for various other game companies, including Legend Entertainment and WorldWinner. He has continued to design and write games across different platforms, often incorporating humor and storytelling into his work. Meretzky remains a respected figure in the video game industry, particularly within the realm of interactive fiction.
