Jet Set Willy is a classic platform video game released for various home computers in the 1980s. It was developed by Matthew Smith and published by Software Projects for the ZX Spectrum in 1984. The game is the sequel to Manic Miner, another popular title created by Smith. This is a remake. In Jet Set Willy, players control the protagonist, Willy, who must navigate through his mansion to collect various objects scattered throughout the rooms. The game is known for its challenging gameplay, quirky humor, and colorful graphics._Jet Set Willy remake_ brings back one of the most infamous platforming adventures of the 1980s and gives it a fresh DOS-era presentation. Released in 1999, it preserves the original game's sprawling mansion, tricky jumps, and habit of punishing even tiny mistakes. Players once again guide Willy through dozens of rooms filled with hazards that seem specifically designed to ruin a good mood. Yet beneath the difficulty lies a surprisingly addictive exploration game packed with quirky charm. The remake manages to respect the classic while making it easier to revisit on newer hardware, proving that some gaming frustrations never truly go out of style.
I find this to be a faithful remake of the original. I remember playing Jet Set Willy in the 80s and this remake recaptures the right spirit... I guess.
