Ken's Labyrinth

Ken's Labyrinth throws players into twisting mazes packed with monsters, hidden rooms, colorful textures, and enough secret passages to keep even the most determined explorer suspicious of every wall. Released during the golden age of first-person shooters, it delivers fast movement, straightforward action, and surprisingly varied environments despite its technical limitations. The cheerful graphics give the game a distinctive personality that separates it from darker contemporaries. Ammunition and health must be managed carefully, although occasionally running away remains a perfectly respectable tactical decision. Beneath its quirky presentation lies an entertaining shooter that helped demonstrate how exciting the genre could become on home computers.

Retro gamer collector's corner:

The first version is known as Walken, the version which Ken Silverman sent to companies for evaluation. There was almost no interactivity, and the code was mostly a test. The first version to be released was a modified version of Walken called Ken's Labyrinth. It was sold by Ken directly, using the Advanced Systems company name.
