The Christmas theme adds seasonal graphics and atmosphere without fundamentally changing the fast-paced gameplay. It is a neat example of a holiday special that does not need to reinvent the original to be enjoyable. The challenge remains just as unforgiving, which means festive cheer can disappear remarkably quickly after the third consecutive crash. Skyroads: Xmas Special combines the series' distinctive speed and precision with a cheerful winter presentation. The result is an amusing seasonal variation on a proven formula.
