Games with survival elements

Survival games have become a major trend in recent years - just take a look at the Steam or GOG catalogues, and you’ll see the sheer variety available. The idea of simply enduring harsh environments and managing limited resources wasn’t widely explored by developers in the past century. Yet, some daring creators decided to experiment with this concept, giving rise to innovative gameplay focused on survival. One of the earliest examples is The Oregon Trail, where players had to carefully manage food, health, and supplies to keep their party alive.
