Donald’s Alphabet Chase is the video game equivalent of hiding fridge magnets and watching a duck hunt them down. In this 1988 edutainment title, the mischievous alphabet letters run away, and it’s up to Donald to chase them around the house. Gameplay is simple: press the key that matches the letter, and Donald triumphantly grabs it, feathers flying. It’s silly, it’s repetitive, and it’s aimed squarely at kids who are just getting comfortable with keyboards. But let’s be honest: seeing a Disney character do slapstick routines while teaching the ABCs is strangely entertaining, even for adults pretending they’re “testing the software.”
