Hired Guns is what happens when someone looks at a dungeon crawler and thinks, “Yes, but what if it were louder, messier, and slightly unhinged?” Released in 1993, this squad-based sci-fi romp throws you into a chaotic maze of corridors where teamwork is optional but highly recommended if you enjoy surviving longer than five minutes. The interface is gloriously clunky, the action surprisingly intense, and the AI companions have just enough personality to feel like coworkers who might accidentally shoot you. It is ambitious, a bit rough around the edges, and undeniably memorable—like assembling IKEA furniture with a flamethrower.
