Based on the cult comedy film, Wayne’s World (1993, DOS) is loud, weird, and occasionally frustrating—much like its source material. This platformer throws Wayne and Garth into a series of loosely connected levels filled with pop culture references, enemies that make little sense, and jokes that sometimes land… and sometimes don’t. Controls are serviceable, though precision isn’t always guaranteed, especially when the game decides to spike the difficulty. Visually, it leans hard into cartoonish sprites and exaggerated animations, which suit the tone nicely. The humor is very early ’90s, unapologetically so, and fans of the movie will appreciate the familiar gags.
