Who is Ed Boon?

Ed Boon is a prominent video game designer and programmer, best known as one of the co-creators of the highly successful "Mortal Kombat" series. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Boon began his career at Midway Games in the late 1980s.

Boon, along with his collaborator John Tobias, created "Mortal Kombat," which debuted in arcades in 1992. The game quickly gained widespread attention for its realistic digitized graphics, brutal fighting gameplay, and memorable characters. The success of "Mortal Kombat" led to numerous sequels, spin-offs, movies, and other forms of media, making it one of the most enduring franchises in gaming history.

As the creative director at NetherRealm Studios (formerly known as Midway Games Chicago), Boon has been involved in the development of various iterations of "Mortal Kombat" and its spin-offs, as well as other fighting games such as "Injustice: Gods Among Us" and "Injustice 2," which feature characters from the DC Comics universe.
