Age of Wonders II: The Wizard's Throne is a turn-based strategy game developed by Triumph Studios and published by Gathering of Developers. It was released in 2002 as a sequel to the original Age of Wonders. The game is set in a fantasy world where players take on the role of a leader, either as a wizard or a warlord, and compete for control of the land. The game features a mix of empire-building, tactical combat, and role-playing elements.
Computer Gaming World (2002): "In terms of sheer size, Age of Wonders II offers plenty of value for the money: a 20-scenario campaign, a couple dozen stand-alone maps, a full scenario editor. and even eight-player LAN and Internet support. Though it’s all very familiar. there is precious little to really complain about in Age of Wonders II. It’s like a P.G. Wodehouse story: We may have read the plot before, but if it’s done well it never loses its appeal."
