The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a famously peculiar interactive fiction adventure based on Douglas Adams's equally peculiar science-fiction comedy. Playing it is less about heroic space battles and more about surviving absurd situations, understanding deliberately strange clues, and discovering that the most apparently useless object may eventually become absolutely essential. The writing captures Adams's dry humor beautifully, while the puzzles are notorious for demanding a particular kind of lateral thinking. Expect confusion, experimentation, occasional frustration, and the wonderful moment when something finally clicks. This is not a game that gently explains what it wants from you. Instead, it throws you into the chaos and politely watches while you attempt to make sense of it. The lack of conventional graphics hardly matters because the prose does such a good job of creating the world. A classic piece of interactive comedy, provided you bring your towel.
