Wizardry 4: The Return of Werdna flips the script by letting you play the villain, which is as delightful as it is diabolical. You control Werdna, an evil wizard with a knack for cruelty, and you get to wreak havoc while dodging traps and facing the ultimate punishment for your arrogance. The difficulty is legendary, the maps are labyrinthine, and every step forward feels like a minor miracle. It’s a game that laughs in the face of tutorialization and hand-holding, rewarding only those willing to embrace chaos and learn from repeated, spectacular failure.
